Race info and start order out

We have 34 entries in our event for 2017. Fixed seat boats include Whitby Gigs (shown in pic from 2015), Celtic Longboats, St Ayles Skiffs. In sliding seat entries we have a single, a double and the usual larger numbers of quads and fours. All are coxed (a condition of entry).

The boats start in 5 waves every 10 minutes from 1.00pm till 1.40pm at Tyne Amateur Rowing Club and Tyne United Rowing Club at Newburn. They should pass the central Newcastle/Gateshead quaysides between about 1.50pm and 2.30pm - come and cheer them on from the bank.

We estimate boats will finish between 3.00pm and 4.00pm just upstream of North Shields Fish Quay and get round to Tynemouth Rowing Club about 15 minutes later. All clubs have refreshments on if you want to come and watch.
